Trio of Kansas City Current players called for international duty during September FIFA window

Kansas City Current will be well represented on the world stage during the September FIFA window with three players being called up by their national teams: Desiree Scott (Canada), Chloe Logarzo (Australia) and Sydney Schneider (Jamaica).

Scott and Logarzo, teammates with the Current, will be on opposing sides as Canada plays the Matildas in Brisbane, Australia at 11:45 p.m. CT Sept. 2 and Sydney, Australia at 4:40 a.m. CT Sept. 6.

Scott is a longtime veteran of Canada Soccer, making her senior team debut in 2010. She has 164 starts and 181 appearances for the senior team and was a part of Canada’s roster for three World Cups (2011, 2015, 2019) and three Olympics (2012, 2016, 2020). Scott is one of only three Canadians to medal in three straight Olympic games, winning bronze in 2012 and 2016 and the gold medal in the Tokyo 2020 games.

Logarzo is also a veteran with her national side. Debuting with the Matildas in 2013, she has been a member of Australia’s national team through the 2016 and 2020 Olympics and the 2019 World Cup. This is slated to be her first international action since she tore her ACL against Ireland on Sept. 22, 2021.

Schneider began her international career with Jamaica’s U17 team in 2016 and made her senior team debut in 2018 at the Concacaf Women’s Championship. There she helped the Reggae Girlz to an upset 1-0 victory over Costa Rica and earned Player of the Match honors. She has 18 caps with the Jamaican National Team. The Reggae Girlz are slated to play South Korea in Hwaseong, South Korea on Sept. 3 at 3 a.m. CT.
