To the Best Fans in the World,

On behalf of the entire Kansas City Current organization, THANK YOU. Words cannot truly express our gratitude and appreciation for each and every one of you helping make the Kansas City Current’s 2024 season so special. While we came just short of our ultimate goal, we are incredibly proud of the historic, groundbreaking and record-setting season we had. What is happening in Kansas City cannot be unseen, and the remarkable things happening in this organization on a daily basis are setting the standard for the rest of the world. In just our fourth season, we’ve laid an incredible foundation as we continue our mission of becoming the best women’s football club in the world.

Eight months ago, we set out on a journey that had never been done before — opening the first stadium in the world purpose-built for a women’s professional sports team. It’s been everything we could have possibly imagined, and more. In 2024, we became the FIRST TEAM IN NWSL HISTORY TO SELL OUT EVERY REGULAR SEASON HOME MATCH, kicked off by a thrilling 5-4 victory March 16 against the Portland Thorns and bookended by the club’s first-ever home playoff match, a 1-0 win over the North Carolina Courage. We felt the energy from our dedicated fans both at CPKC Stadium and on the road, which is a massive testament to YOU. None of what we do is possible without YOUR support and inspiration, and we are so lucky to serve such an amazing fanbase in such an incredible city. YOU made CPKC Stadium a fortress and the most intimidating place to play in the NWSL, and our players fed off your energy all season.  

On the pitch, the club made even more history. Under the leadership of Head Coach and Sporting Director Vlatko Andonovski, in his first season with the club, the Current had a memorable 2024 campaign. We set franchise single-season records in wins (16), total points (55) and shutouts (9), broke an NWSL record for total goals in a season (57) and had a league-record 18 different goal scorers in regular season play. The club also took home some hardware, winning The Women’s Cup in August and the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup in October. The season was capped by the club’s second-ever appearance in the NWSL playoffs, where we came just shy of realizing our championship goal.  

The team, technical staff and front office staff are already hard at work preparing for 2025. And there’s so much to look forward to. The club has an exciting mix of young talent and veteran experience and made several additions in 2024 that will be instrumental to the future of the organization. We are confident that more success is in our immediate future as we continue to chase the NWSL Championship.

We loved sharing this journey with you all, the best fans in the world. Thank you for your support in 2024, and we can’t wait for what’s to come. We’re already counting down the days until we get to celebrate again in 2025 with 11,500 of our closest friends at CPKC Stadium.
