National Women’s Soccer League set for 2024 NWSL Draft, presented by Ally

The 2024 NWSL Draft, presented by Ally begins at 7 p.m. CT from Anaheim, California.

This year’s NWSL Draft is the first since the NWSL announced a landmark broadcast agreement in November. ION will televise the first two rounds of the draft while ION Plus will stream the entirety of the broadcast. Fans watching the show may recognize a little Kansas City flair as all four hosts of the program are veterans of Kansas City Current local broadcasts: Lisa Carlin, Lori Lindsey, Jordan Angeli and Anna Witte. Viewers can find access to ION in their areas or via streaming platforms by clicking here.

The 2024 NWSL Draft is the fourth in Kansas City Current history. The Current is scheduled to have three picks in the draft after an earlier trade involving the club’s natural first round pick. However, the team feels it has already gained first-round talent after signing midfielder Claire Hutton in December.

With the additional signing of Alex Pfeiffer earlier in the offseason, head coach Vlatko Andonovski and his staff can focus on finding the best talent in the draft as he builds the roster for 2024 and beyond.

“There is a lot of great talent deep into this draft,” said Andonovski. “I know the entire organization is looking forward to the draft and there’s a lot of buzz around the building right now. I want to thank Cami and my staff for all of their hard work leading up to this and we’re excited to bring some exciting young talent home to Kansas City.”

The Current head into the draft with a pick in the second round (#18), third round (#32) and fourth round (#46). If there are no changes leading up to or during the draft, the three selections will be the fewest in club history, just one shy of the four picks by the team in 2022.

Fans can follow all the action throughout the draft in our Draft Hub on the KC Current app, available for download here.
