The Kansas City Current have signed defender Croix Soto (CROY SOH-toh) to a one-year contract through the 2023 season. Croix is expected to be available for selection this weekend as the team travels to play the Chicago Red Stars Saturday, April 15 at 7 p.m. CT.
A mainstay on the backline during her four years at the University of Oregon, Croix comes to the Current with a defense-first mindset. She played 62 matches (57 starts) and just under 5,500 minutes for the Fighting Ducks before graduating in 2022. She was All-Pac 12 Third Team in 2020, then in 2021 she earned All-Pac12 Second Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Pacific Third Team.
