The Kansas City Current have traded goalkeeper Cassie Miller to NJ/NY Gotham FC in exchange for $70,000 in allocation funds and $30,000 in intra-league transfer funds. The veteran Miller was a restricted free agent and signed a one-year contract through the 2024 season to facilitate the trade.
“Cassie is talented goalkeeper and we’re very thankful for what she has done for this club,” said general manager Camille Ashton. “We’re glad that we were able to work with her to find a situation where she can continue to grow in the next phase of her career.”
Miller joined the Current during the 2022 preseason in a trade from the Chicago Red Stars. Prior to coming to Kansas City, she played and started in 15 regular season games for the Red Stars and helped to lead the team to the 2021 NWSL Championship. With Kansas City she played 12 games, including 10 starts and four clean sheets in 2023. She has 27 career starts in three seasons with five clean sheets and a goals-against-average of 1.15.
