The deadline is approaching quickly for KC Current fans to become part of history. Today the club announced that fans have less than 50 days to place a membership deposit on KCCurrentStadium.com, which secures a fan’s place in line to select a seat for their 2024 season ticket membership at KC Current Stadium.
“I can’t believe how soon the stadium will be ready! It’s clear that our fans are ready and want in,” said KC Current Founder and Co-Owner Angie Long, “We expect a sold out crowd every single night and we can’t wait to show the world how KC supports it’s sports and especially the best women’s soccer in the world!”
Two new key dates for the club are Friday, May 12 and Wednesday, June 7. For priority seat selection in KC Current Stadium, the deadline to purchase 2023 season tickets is Friday, May 12. For fans who are not currently season ticket holders, the deadline to place a 2024 KC Current Stadium season ticket deposit is Wednesday, June 7. The club expects demand to exceed capacity in the new KC Current Stadium, so fans will need to place a membership deposit to claim their spot in line. The club will give new stadium seat selection priority to 2023 KC Current Season Ticket Members, who will select their seats before fans with deposits.
“We have seen more and more fans flock to KC Current home matches to be a part of something special,” said Current President Allison Howard. “With steady increases throughout the season last year and a brand-new attendance record set in our home opener, its absolutely incredible to see the continuous outpouring of support from this community and to be able to witness the demand continuing to grow.”
History has already begun on multiple fronts. On Monday, Kansas City Current also announced that the first seat in the first stadium purpose-built for a women’s professional team in the world was sold in Pitch Club, on sale now to 2023 Field Club members. The Pitch Club is a backstage experience unlike any other, providing a look into the raw moments through the eyes of a player by way of proximity to the pitch as well as a re-imagined culinary experience featuring a rotating chef-driven menu from Megan and Colby Garrelts of Rye KC and a custom-made craft cocktail list.
“There has been so much interest driven in becoming a part of Pitch Club, that our phones haven’t stopped ringing over the past 24 hours,” said VP of Sales and Service Dan Boyd. “We have seen season ticket sales increase 87% year-over-year. We are thrilled with the support from our fanbase and are eager to see it continue to grow.”
The Current also released four new aerial renderings of the new stadium on the Riverfront. The Southwest Aerial View is the highest view of the new stadium that the club has released. It gives fans a bird's eye look at Berkley Riverfront highlighting the excitement and beauty of match nights. The Southwest Corner View rendering gives a fan-first perspective from the southwest corner of the stadium looking toward the river and scoreboard. The Southwest View focuses on the main entrance of the stadium where most people who travel to Berkley Riverfront by car, public transportation or the KC Streetcar will become familiar with this sight. The Trail Entry provides a look at the stadium’s secondary entryway from the park side. Fans who walk, travel by bike or other forms of sustainable public transportation will be able to access the stadium here.
“This is just the starting line for what’s to come at KC Current Stadium,” said Howard, “The fan experience will be unparalleled and there will be something exciting every match that will be sure to leave our fans wanting more. We love seeing this project come to life on the Riverfront and can’t wait to see 11,500 electric KC Current fans pack our stadium to the brim.”
The four new aerial renderings show the uniqueness of the KC Current Stadium roof undulation as well as the adjacency to the Missouri River accentuated by the backdrop of downtown Kansas City. Fans can follow construction updates on KCCurrentStadium.com.
