Kansas City Current and forward Mimmi Larsson mutually agree to part ways

The Kansas City Current and forward Mimmi Larsson have agreed to mutually terminate her contract with the club. Larsson originally joined the club prior to the 2023 season.

“Mimmi was a true professional with the club,” said general manager Camille Ashton. “We wish her nothing but the best with her future.”

“I enjoyed my time in Kansas City,” added Larsson. “I wish the club success in the new stadium and with the new season coming up.”

Larsson joined Kansas City after playing extensively in Sweden, most recently with FC Rosengard. While there she helped the team to league and Svenska Cupen titles in 2020 and 2021 and a berth in the European Champions League. With the Swedish National Team, Larsson has 33 appearances, including the 2017 UEFA Women’s European Championships, 2018-2019 Algarve Cups and the 2019 FIFA World Cup.

Larsson appeared in 26 matches across all competitions for the Current in 2023. She scored her first NWSL goal against the Chicago Red Stars on April 17 and tallied 2 goals and three assists across the year.
