We are teaming up with local animal shelters in support of pet adoptions. For the fourth year, the club presents the Mascot of the Match campaign, spotlighting local animals ready for adoption.  

Our Mascot of the Match for KC Current vs. Utah Royals on Saturday, March 29 is Sassy from Wayside Waifs!  

Adopt Sassy

Sassy is a 4-year-old torbie with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. Despite her name, she’s as sweet as can be! She adores playtime, especially when it involves wand toys—there’s nothing better than chasing, pouncing, and showing off her expert hunting skills. When Sassy arrives in a new place, she takes her time getting comfortable. But once she feels at home, her curious and adventurous side shines through. She loves to explore every nook and cranny, making sure she knows all the best spots to lounge, hide, and play. She’s also a big fan of pets and affection. With gentle scratches and attention, she’ll happily soak up all the love. Whether it’s playing, exploring, or simply enjoying a cozy moment together, Sassy is ready to be a new best friend.

As Kansas City’s largest and most comprehensive no kill pet adoption campus, Wayside Waifs is committed to finding homes for all adoptable pets. We serve more than 30,000 pets and people every year through pet adoptions, youth education, canine training programs, and community outreach. We do not euthanize adoptable animals, and there are no time limits for animals in our care. Only animals suffering from significant medical issues or those that pose a danger are humanely euthanized. We are proud to be a part of Kansas City’s no kill community.
