Adopt Phoenix, our Mascot of the Match!

This season, KC Current is teaming up with local animal shelters in support of pet adoptions. For the third year, the club presents the Mascot of the Match campaign, spotlighting local animals ready for adoption.

Our Mascot of the Match for KC Current vs. Houston Dash on Saturday, July 20 for our first match in the inaugural NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup is Phoenix from Mid America Bully Breed Rescue!

Adopt Phoenix

Phoenix is a very sweet and playful boy who wants to be wherever his people are. He is fully house trained and has not had a single accident since being in a foster home. He learned to be comfortable in the kennel within 4 days.  He is a really good listener, and already has picked up on “stay” and “drop” without extensive training. Phoenix loves to play with other dogs and has also done well with cats. He does the cutest little jump and spin when he is excited to go on a walk. Phoenix would love a forever home that is looking for a sweet, loving boy who loves to cuddle on the couch or the bed, play with toys or in a kiddie pool!

Kansas Pit Bull Rescue (KPR) was founded in 2003 by two dog lovers who were tired of having to turn homeless pit bulls away from their small foster home network because they lacked space, volunteers and adequate funding. Their goal was to assist pit bull-type dogs who found themselves in high kill shelters in the Midwest. With significant help from supporters and donors, KPR placed over 100 needy pit bulls and pit bull mixes into responsible forever homes within their first two years of incorporation as a licensed 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.
