TEN THINGS TO KNOW

1. Kansas City has won its last four regular season games vs. Louisville by an aggregate score of 13-3. The Current has scored in the opening five minutes in three of those four matches.

2.  The last meeting between the two sides was a dominant 5-1 win for the Current at CPKC Stadium on July 29. Forward Haley Hopkins and forward/midfielder Debinha both registered braces while rookie forward Amelia White scored her first career NWSL goal.

3. The Current has now reached 50+ points in three consecutive seasons. The team enters the final match of the regular season on a four-game winning streak — the longest of the year.

4. Forward Temwa Chawinga finished 10th in the 2026 Ballon’ d’Or Feminin rankings after placing 17th last year. Goalkeeper Lorena finished 28th in her first career nomination. The Current is the only NWSL club, and one of just seven clubs around the world, with multiple top 30 finishers.

5. Midfielder Croix Bethune set the NWSL single season assist record with 11 on Oct. 25. Her 23 regular season assists since her debut in 2024 are seven more than any other player, and she is the only player in league history with multiple regular seasons of 10 or more assists. Bethune’s team is 15-2-2 in regular season matches where she has recorded at least one assist.

6. Midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo scored her first goal of the 2026 regular season last weekend – which proved to be the game-winner – since becoming a mom in January and being activated from the maternity list in July, which was also her first goal since Nov. 17, 2024. Including her two assists, all three of her goal contributions this season have come in the last four matches.

7. Kansas City ranks second in the NWSL with 52 goals, just one behind 10th-place Denver (53 goals). Twelve different Current players have scored at least once this year, the second-most goalscorers in a single regular season in club history.

8. Heading into the final week of the regular season, Kansas City joins North Carolina as the only clubs with multiple players in the top 10 of the NWSL Golden Boot race. Chawinga, the two-time defending MVP and Golden Boot winner, sits in fifth with 12 goals and four assists while Hopkins ranks eighth with 11 goals and four assists.

9. The Current has had eight multi-goal performances this year, tied with Seattle (2014, 2021) for the most in a single regular season in NWSL history. Those multi-goal performances have come in the form of three hat tricks and five braces from four different players.

10. Having already secured a berth in the 2026 NWSL Playoffs, the Current could clinch a top-four seed – and home field advantage for at least the quarterfinals – with a win on Sunday. Kansas City is one of four NWSL clubs riding an active postseason streak of three or more seasons.
