Kansas City NWSL Announces January Tryouts - UPDATED 1/16/21

**UPDATE - JANUARY 16, 2021**

Due to the amount of snow that fell in the Kansas City area, the lack of sun today and with the temperature being at a maximum of 36 degrees we have had no alternative but to postpone this weekend's tryouts

Open and invitational tryouts will now be consolidated to Friday, Jan. 22. We will ask all players (open and invited) to attend the first session (10:30 a.m CT - 12:00 p.m. CT) and selected players to attend the afternoon session (1:30 – 3:00 p.m. CT). 

**UPDATE - JANUARY 15, 2021**

Due to the snow and freezing temperatures, tryouts have been postponed. Currently, the team is planning to host the tryout sessions on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 10:30am – 12:00pm CT and 2:00 – 3:30pm CT. The final decision will be made Saturday morning.

KANSAS CITY (Dec. 31, 2020) – NWSL Kansas City will host two days of tryouts at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo. as the team prepares for the upcoming 2021 season. Open tryouts will take place on Jan. 15 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. CT with a second round of Invitational Tryouts to be conducted 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. CT and 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. CT on Jan. 16.

Players will be evaluated by Head Coach Huw Williams along with other members of the NWSL KC Coaching staff.

Tryouts are open to players 18 years of age and older and costs $70 per player. All participants must register here by 5 p.m. CT on Jan. 13. Registration is required to participate in the open tryout; walk-ups will not be accepted. Players must sign a medical liability waiver before they will be allowed to participate and provide proof of health insurance.

Due to COVID-19 protocols limiting large groups of people, open tryouts will be limited to the first 90 registrants.

Participants must provide their outdoor training gear, and will be responsible for all equipment suitable for all weather and turf variations.

Registrants are responsible for their travel and accommodations. Hyatt Place Convention Center will be providing a special discounted rate all weekend for players in need of an overnight stay. Visit their website for more information.
