KANSAS CITY (March 2, 2021) – Kansas City NWSL draft picks Victoria Pickett and Addie McCain have each agreed to terms with the team. Pickett's agreement is for three years while McCain is two. Further details of the agreements were not disclosed. The moves were announced as the team released their updated 32-player preseason roster.
Both players were each selected by Kansas City in the second round of the 2021 NWSL Draft. Pickett recently returned to camp after spending time with Canada Soccer during the SheBelieves Cup.
Pickett was the team’s first selection of the round (No. 15 overall). Originally from Ontario, Canada, Pickett played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin. She has also represented her country at the CONCACAF U-17 Championship and the FIFA U-17 and U-20 World Cup. She was First Team All-Big Ten in 2017 and 2018.
McCain was selected with the 17th overall pick out of Texas A&M University. She earned SEC All-Freshman Team honors in 2017. Throughout her Aggies career she earned All-SEC Second Team (2018) and All-SEC First Team (2020).
Both players will be available for selection as the team opens the preseason friendly schedule against the Orlando Pride Wednesday, March 3. Kansas City will play three more friendlies once the team returns to Kansas City.
