Kansas City Current release Electric Kit Ahead of 2022 Regular Season

The Kansas City Current have revealed the Electric kit, the team’s secondary jersey for the 2022 NWSL season.  The team will debut its first custom matchday kit on April 30, when they travel to Portland to take on the Thorns in the 2022 regular season opener.

The Electric kit features bursts of teal accents rising along the sides of the jersey, representing world-class players who are carving a new path driven by energy and optimism. The club’s sponsors are prominently featured on the kit, including Saint Luke’s Health System emblazoned across the front, Palmer Square Capital Management on the back and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City on the sleeve.

Accents of Heartland Red, including the iconic NIKE Swoosh and piping along the side and neck, symbolize the Current’s connection to the community, passion for the sport, and commitment to one another.

The Electric kit will be paired with white shorts and the club’s signature teal socks. Exclusive to the 2022 season, kits will feature a metallic silver badge commemorating this year’s milestone 10th anniversary of the NWSL.

“I am proud and honored to represent Kansas City,” said Current defender Kristen Edmonds. “This community has embraced our team since day one and every time I step on the field, I know I am playing for something bigger than myself. We are building something special here and continuing to raise the bar and set new standards. Our new kit tells a story of where we are headed, from the bold red accents to the teal rising up the sides. I couldn’t be more excited to represent this city, this crest and everything this club stands for.”

The Electric kit is now available for purchase in youth and adult sizes on Shop.KansasCityCurrent.com, with shipment available worldwide. Fans can also purchase the Electric kit at home matches at Children’s Mercy Park beginning on the Challenge Cup Semifinal match on May 4 as well as via the club’s mobile unit – the Teal Mobile – at select community events. The club’s primary kit will be released ahead of the Current’s regular season home opener.
