Kansas City Current announces Local Pig as next restaurant partner in CPKC Stadium

Local Pig, which has been highlighted nationally on The Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” for its exquisite pork offerings is the next restaurant partner announced by the Kansas City Current as part of the CPKC Stadium culinary experience.

“We are incredibly excited to be a part of the culinary hospitality at CPKC Stadium,” said Local Pig owner Alex Pope. “We’re looking forward to sharing our signature dishes like our custom sausage links with all the fans at each home game.”

“Local Pig is a longstanding staple and butcher shop with strong ties to the Kansas City community,” said Megan and Colby Garrelts, chef-partners for CPKC Stadium and owners of Rye. “They are a KC favorite that capitalizes on their connection to the community they serve by treating fans with their unique fare. A full-line butcher shop, Local Pig is dedicated to locally sourced products and humanely raised meats.  Local Pig started as a one-room shop in the industrial East Bottoms of Kansas City in 2012. Due to its high-demand locally and popularity with foodies across the country, in 2019 it expanded to a larger location within the historic City Market.

Local Pig’s location at the Northeast corner within CPKC Stadium will feature four staple sausage links on a rotating basis: BBQ Brat, Jalapeno Cheddar, Beer Brat and All Beef hot dogs among other offerings.

The club will have more announcements regarding the bespoke culinary experience at the stadium in the coming weeks on Teal Tuesdays.  Fans are encouraged to celebrate all things KC Current with the team – and to wear teal – as the story of CPKC Stadium continues to come to life.
